Some Girl(s) produced by Reverie Theatre Company. Season Runs April 18th, 19th, 20th

Your writing career is flourishing, and your young, beautiful fiancée eagerly awaits your marriage and a trip to Cancun by your side. What's your instinctive reaction? If you're a man, it likely involves feeling nervous and reaching out to past girlfriends.

Thus begins a single man's journey through four hotel rooms across the country in pursuit of the perfect woman, whom he has already parted ways with.

"Somе Girl(s)" is the latest creation by Neil LaBute, a provocative figure in American theatre. In this play, humor intertwines with seriousness, shedding light on a typical young American male exploring his inner complexities.

Neil LaBute's dramedy premiered in London in May 2005 at the Gielgud Theatre, starring David Schwimmer, Catherine Tate, Lesley Manville, Saffron Burrows, and Sara Powell.

The play debuted Off-Broadway at the Lucille Lortel Theatre on June 8, 2006, and closed on July 8, 2006. Directed by Jo Bonney, the cast featured Eric McCormack, Fran Drescher, Judy Reyes, Brooke Smith, and Maura Tierney, all renowned for their television roles. The show was also performed in Toronto at the Tarragon Theatre and later in London by the Tower Theatre Company.

Critics like John Lahr and Michael Billingham praised LaBute's exploration of the darker aspects of individualism, highlighting his talent for delving into human complexity.

"LaBute... continues to probe the fascinating dark side of individualism... [His] great gift is to live in and to chronicle that murky area of not-knowing, which mankind spends much of its waking life denying." - John Lahr, The New Yorker

Now, you can catch this captivating show on the Gold Coast, presented by fellow collaborators Sophie Lawson & Candince Jean from Reverie Theatre.

As you can see in the accompanying photos, the see the cast engaged in a relaxed reading session at Javeenbah, embodying the complex characters that challenge and redefine the protagonist's views on relationships.

Witness the sparks and heartbreak as Guy reconnects with four exes at Javeenbah Theatre in Nerang, an hour's drive from Brisbane and 20 minutes from the Central Gold Coast. The talented local cast includes Cassie Bean, Corinne Le Claire, Jaedyn Brown, Sophie Lawson, and Candice Jean, who are also directing the show.
